greeting card

Wanted to make a downloadable greeting card that can be printed from a PDF file. The cover design comes from previous projects.

The output is a blank card, to be printed with a color laser printer on good quality card paper, then folded.

Aldi xfinity plus 20V Rechargeable Li-ion Battery PT166213302 5irn19/65 2Ah 40Wh teardown

I purchased one of these multi-tool batteries out of curiosity. The moonshot aim is to adapt the pack to operate my laptop, but that's gonna have to wait. In the mean time I had a look inside.

The pack contains 5x Samsung 18650 batteries, which is wonderful because they are quite versatile.

The 20V format also means 18V, depending on manufacturer probably. The voltage varies between full charge and full discharge, but should be somewhere around 5*3.7V or 18.5V on average.

Interestingly, the charger outputs 12V and connects to the thrid pin on the battery pack.

The battery outputs 20V (+).

BTW, Li battery nominal 3.7V x 5 cells ~= 18.5V.

The T pin that battery and charger I presume is for temperature safety monitoring.

Found new applications for the battery pack:

1) Portable speaker with d class amplifier module

2) Laptop power. The starting full charge was 20.5V. About 3 hours later power to the laptop was lost in the usual manner, with a remaining charge at 16.8V.

holiday feeds

These are some of our foodie experiences from Melbourne and Hobart.

1) First at Melbourne, after a long walk we dropped into super normal, a favorite Japanese fusion place. Accessed via street level where you would expect a car park. Styling is architectural. Service seems to be collage grads and actors. Lunchtime patrons are mostly suits. The value is upper affordable. I had some kind of a delicious seaweed fungus tofu combo.

2) Next food grub van fitzroy. Access is via an empty lot, sort of. You walk in and see a 1960s style silver camping trailer, astroturf, menus in an old open fridge, a perimeter that resembles a herb garden, and a mishmash of details go on. There is an outside and an inside. My breakfast had a roasted eggplant and fried cauliflower with chickpeas, and for lunch an avo smash.

3) An obligatory local look around on the rooftop at naked for satan, for a beer and salad. Also checkout their wall pron.

4) Just off main street and maintaining the local look with a graffiti exterior, is an old garage that contains transformer fitzroy. Inside is a sophisticated atmosphere, serving contemporary fusion food. We opted for the multi-course feed-me experience.

5) The source at mona is where we went for a special lunch. I had a risotto, the best in all of my life.

Remember to always proofread

A quick circle fill experiment, probably took an hour. That's when I should have quite further development.

newmanx brand move

Shifted brand from notnewman to newmanx.

The origin of notnewman was to do with a joke that outlived it's usefulness. The genesis of newmanx was similar but recent, and sounds more catchy. Will keep going with notnewman for content produced as an individual, while newmanx is now an umbrella entity with a wide scope. Will see how that goes.
